Our approach

Walls are meant for dancing.
A philosophy that supports our urge to perform on challenging plains.

Our work and performances intertwine with the architecture, the landscape, the textures,
the weather, the rigging, the performances, the choreography and the audience’s point of view,
even the accidental ones looking out through a window.

  • Vertical dance is an aerial discipline performed with rope and harness.
    Combining the techniques of climbing, rigging and choreography.
    It takes place on various plains and heights.

  • The possibilities are endless on all fronts:

    > videography
    custom made video content to project on the vertical plain,
    as part of the choreography.

    > music
    custom edited soundtracks, live music or a mix of both.
    involving local bands, orchestras, choirs or participation projects.

    > rope or winches
    the standard way of performing Vertical Dance is with rope.
    winches are automated and make the performers move both down and upward
    in various speeds, creating an even more dynamic performance.

    All these possibilities depend on the amaount of time and budget available.

  • outdoors
    any type of building, architectural structures, artworks, historical buildings, towers, windmills, churches, constructions, cranes, public space, urban surfaces, tunnels, theaters and more.

    in nature
    mountains, rocks, trees, waterfalls and more.

    indoors
    museums, churches, concerthalls, theaters, congress halls, public places, libraries, architectural structures and more.

    Locations don’t necessarily have to be high and wide.
    Access to the rigging points and safety are the main requierments.

  • The technical requirements depend on the request.
    For every performance or act we visit the location to have a dialogue
    on the possibilities, exchange ideas and perform the technical assessment.

    We have a vast experience with all sorts of architecture (inside and out) and structures in the urban and natural environment.
